More Lookin Back on Andrew Lookin Back with Maya Hayuk, Again

Andrew's PMA decimated by Brad. Again.

You can't really hear it, but I say "Nice. Everyone sounded pretty good"; Eric backs me up; Brad then interjects with "Yeah. Everyone except for you (Andrew)". He's just said it when my shoulders drop. Then, as if he hasn't done enough, he says "It's true". It looks like I'm beginning to laugh, but it's really just me trying to mask the pain, because I'm totally crying on the inside.

Bradctice makes perfect

This one's hilarious.
Brad does badly, and we mention it casually, and then he throws a tantrum. It's like, come on, dude. "Constructive criticism". Look it up.

Starting at the top

Eric and I have been playing together for 21 years. Like, our earliest songs, if they had birth certificates and IDs, would be able to drink alcohol. Legally.
If they did ever drink, we'd hope that they did so responsibly. The reckless youth have a tendency to overdo it, and that is the category that many of those songs fall into.
One of the very first songs we wrote (which isn't on the Box Set) was "My Friend Maurice". I haven't heard the original recording of that in forever, but it was so fucking blasted it hurts a bit just imagining it. The version on our major label effort "IX" sounds like THX in comparison.
Another song from that period that I freaking wish would be unearthed was called "Honey Bee".
Here are the lyrics (to the tune of "Anarchy in the UK"; written in 1988-89)):

Honey Bee

We're getting brilliant and we know it and we want to be brilliant forever
We're getting brilliant and we know it and we want to be brilliant forever

Be brilliant with me

I want to swim across the Red Sea
I want to kiss a honey bee
I want to swim across your ocean
I want to drink your love potion
I want to go on vacation
Wiiiiiiiiith
You.
Go on vacation with you

One day I was sunbathing
On a spring off the Mississippi
When I said to myself
This is bad for my health
So I went inside and put some vitamin E
Right on my skin
And then I went out for a swim

Now I'm elated, joyous, so pleased
I'm down on my precious knees
Beggin you to do all the things that I want you to do

I want a kiss a honey bee
I want to meet Mickey Mouse
I want to live in a brick house
I want to have an beautiful spouse

Someone like you

Abuse from previous Home drummer/bassist Chris Sturgeon

Home , Fall, '09

We'll be going out for a few days in early November, and then playing a couple of shows when we return in NYC. We're touring/playing as a 3-piece for the first time, to get back to the loose energy of those early recordings. A bunch of them were recorded completely by Eric, a bunch of others recorded just by Andrew. Stripped down, basic, crazy simple.
Naysayers will be all like, "You can't go back, sorry, Charlie", but to those naysayers we say this; so? Is it such a big deal that we're celebrating olden times when Brahs® are kind enough to present this stuff to people who hadn't been able to hear it previously? Exactly. Our point exactly.
But how cool is time travel? The best.
Here are just a couple of our favorite time travel movies, in no particular order. The list is much longer than this, but feel free to add more in the comments. Thank you.

Bill and Ted's Excellent Adventure (ONE)
Somewhere in Time
Slaughterhouse-five
The Butterfly Effect
Star Trek
Back to the Future II (cuz of the hover skateboards)
Timecop
The Lake House (if you can get through this without getting choked up we're worried for you. and which genre doesn't benefit from keanu reeves? which one?)

Eric can't believe how cold Brad's reaction to Andrew's reaction is.
